Families can attend the festival free; or may want to enjoy zipline adventures at 25% discount. All revenue will go to this WWC charity to reduce financial stress for our Canadian heroes. Vendors include Lake Country Ambulance Services, Canadian Blood Services plus the Oyama Fire Department will be barbecuing hamburgers and hotdogs. Starbucks will provide coffee for parents able to come up the hill in the morning! Oyama Sunblush is providing muffins.

Wounded Warriors Canada is proud to support first responders and military. All revenue on May 27, 2023 will be donated to help alleviate mental and emotional stresses that some of our emergency workers suffer.

Garry McCracken, a veteran and Lake Country resident will be participating in the Battlefield Bike Ride, a major fundraising ride in Italy in June, supporting Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC).  WWC is a national mental health service provider supporting military, veterans and first responders who develop mental disorders as a result of their work to serve and protect us.  In November 2022, Garry’s daughter passed away after a long battle with a related mental disorder.  This year to honour her, all proceeds from Wounded Warrior Day will be donated through Garry’s ride campaign to Warrior Kids Camp.  Research shows the psychological effects of the service members’ operational stressors cascades through the family system to affect children and their mental health.  This one-of-a-kind program is aimed at helping the truly innocent, the children of the veteran or first responder who is suffering from an Operational Stress Injury, such as PTSD.

Contribute to the care of our heroes, take in the views of Kalamalka Lake, expand your knowledge of first responders' roles, and enjoy the forest park and the festivities 9-4pm, May 27th at Oyama Zipline Forest Adventure.
